Simon Pegg twice in one month! This time with his buddy Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). I enjoyed Paul so much I watched it twice. It was hilarious and silly and clever. It was a road trip film and one of several I've seen lately set in a motor home. I wonder if these films are sponsored by that industry, pretty good product placement.
I recommend it for a good laugh.

'Second Hand Wedding' is a New Zealand film. It gets off to a pretty rocky start and as one of the comments I read said, "The irony here as you begin to watch Second-Hand Wedding is that you feel as if you are watching a second-hand copy!! ". Stick with it though - it is full of treasures. The story is beautiful.
I went to see it in the Stratford theatre for International Women's Day this week. The film shows a range of relationships and experiences and I would highly recommend it. Lots of laughs and a few tears.
Margaret and David reviewed it here - At The Movies: Second Hand Wedding
Falling Brick will drop on you snippets of randomly discovered info about video, film, digital-storytelling, short film, film making, music, media and amusement.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10364916125790002624noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29285735.post-15465789956303571442013-12-31T21:51:00.000+11:002013-12-31T21:51:00.482+11:00Reading December 2013

The Burning Man is set in Sydney and is about a chef. It took me a little while to follow the plot as it moved about between present and past. I liked it though. It all made sense in the end and there were some great Aussie actors in it, such as Rachel Griffiths, a favourite of mine.

It is a story about love, loss and grief. The protagonist is a chef and there was some reality there. It is a beautiful film in lots of ways and I enjoyed it.

It's irreverent and uplifting and I highly recommend it. The version I watched is French with English subtitles and it was worth putting aside all distractions to watch and enjoy. This film is my favourite so far this year.
 Amazon.com Widgets

Falling Brick will drop on you snippets of randomly discovered info about video, film, digital-storytelling, short film, film making, music, media and amusement.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10364916125790002624noreply@blogger.com0
